Earth Day

I remember the first Earth Day. I was chairman of my local Environmental Commission and very involved in the movement. When my children and I went anywhere, I came home with a purse full of wrappers, tissues, and popsicle sticks. We were in the car, a compact, crossing over the Manasquan River. The sun was shining and glancing off the water. There was so much hope for the future of the earth. People recycled because it was the right thing to do, not because it was the law.
Now the land is scarred again, newspapers and empties line the road and it seems nobody cares. I remember a project I did in college using photos of Ocean County and the words of Native Americans. One phrase stays in my mind, "The earth weeps" It wept then and it weeps today. If you are reading this, please try to heal it's wounds and wipe away it's tears.

7 1/2 steps

I have to work at gaining confidence in my abilities. I tend to be hesitant when I set out to do something new. Once I begin however, I just whizz along. Because of my love of science and mathematics, I tend to view all problems with the end in mind. I have the ability to go from A to D with out consciously touching on B & C, a trait that causes me to loose patience with my more analytical friends. As for 7 1/2, i really do need to lighten up and have more fun. I need to get out in the sun and leave more of my serious side at home.

A little bit about me

I'm new at this so if I do something wrong, do not let me know.
I work in a library and it's a great place to be. But the beach is better. I live near the ocean and the bay. Since I'm a Capricorn and my tail is in the water, There is no better place to be.
I love the Giants, Devils, and a whole bunch of drivers chief of whom are the 2 Juniors: Truex and Earnhardt. I collect die cast cars, dolls and dust. I have 2 cats, 2 kids, and a life.
I listen to R&R, classical, jazz, & anything but noise. I don't especially like silence, but sometime I crave it. Most of my heroes are dead & that's ok too. I have a wish list of things to do, next on it is skydiving. I like to take chances and I love to drive fast. I'll answer questions but I might lie. Take your chances.
